So we are in August already and I think August & September marks the transition period for Fall. Most brands have already announced or launched their Fall Makeup Collection. I sure will be buying some new fall makeup but i think this would be perfect opportunity to share my current favorite Summer to Fall transition lipsticks. Without rambling much, let’s move straight to the business 🙂
Mac Cosmetics – Velvet Teddy | £15.50
My top favorite has to be Velvet Teddy from Mac as this lipstick is the most versatile shade and can go well with any makeup look. This is a deep toned beige shade and looks good on most skin tones. This is not too pink and not too brown kinda shade. Its a comfortable matte formula that won’t cling to any dry patches of your lips. The pigmentation and longevity is great so you can definitely wear and forget. Definitely check this out if you don’t own this shade.
Before buying this, I was not sure if I would be able to pull this off but seriously its such a pretty pinky-nude for me. It goes totally opaque in one swipe and formula is creamy matte. The longevity is for 3-4 hours on my lips considering I eat and drink while testing any lipstick. So, its for those fuss-free days when you want to look nice and fresh but not for special occasions as these need re-application after few hours. Nevertheless, its such a pretty shade and i wear this for school runs as well as shopping trips. The price for the UK buyers is however misleading and comes more than $5. There are custom charges and Royal mail handling + international shipping costs involved but if you place a bigger order, you’ll be able to justify it. Small orders can be made via insta stores to save cost and time.
- Nyx Lingerie -Ruffle Trim | £6.50
This is the most inexpensive liquid lipstick I own. The excitement of getting our hands on the Nyx liquid lipsticks was unreal, you can ask @ummbaby ! We used to tweet continuously about these lipsticks during the launch period and got obsessed when we got our hands on these. Ruffle trim is such a pretty terracotta nude and looks fabulous on most skin tones. It is very opaque and stays put for longer hours. It doesn’t crack on my lips but can feel a tad bit drying after few hours of wear. However if you exfoliate and moisturise your lips before wearing any liquid lipstick, they wear beautifully. Absolute treat at such price!
- Gerard Cosmetics – 1995 | £9.50
I bought this lipstick when it was newly launched and was not available in the UK. I placed a bundle lipstick order from Gerard Cosmetics website and the order was shipped and reached to me quickly. Thankfully, I was not charged with any custom duty. The only lipstick that stood out to me and is still very much my favorite is 1995. I totally understand why there was so much hype about this shade. You need to have this terracotta brown in your collection. Trust me, you will fell in love instantly! Its a very matte formula so exfoliation of lips is essential or it will highlight any dry patches on your lips. It stays put for longer duration and works well for most skin tones. The shade is everything! I still need to try this shade in Hydra matte collection. Its on my wishlist.
- Mac Cosmetics – Taupe | £15.50
This lipstick is my new-found love and the swatches will tell why! Mac describes the shade as muted reddish taupe brown. Its a gorgeous shade which looks flattering on most skin tones and works well with any makeup looks. The formula is creamy matte which is comfortable on lips. It stays put for more than 8 hours and doesn’t require frequent touch ups. It looks absolutely stunning on my skin and i don’t think it needs more explanation 🙂 Try it and you’ll know!
