Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation | New Launch

Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation review

Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation review

I was not into foundations that much earlier but now I feel like trying every new launch. Couple of weeks ago, I attended a Nyx makeup class which was in collaboration with Kiehls. The artists were demonstrating makeup with the newest launch from the brand – Nyx Total Control Drops. When they mentioned drop foundation and adjustable coverage, it rang bell and I thought of my Cover Fx Custom Coverage drops that I love. However, the offering from cover fx is pure pigment and is not designed to wear alone. It needs to be mixed with moisturiser, serum, oil or your regular foundation.

The makeup artist colour matched me so I could get the right shade because its generally difficult with drugstore foundation to get a right match. My arms doesn’t match my face so I usually invest in high-end foundations only after getting myself color matched.

I recommend Levitra at https://signanthealth.com/levitra-ed-treatment/. The drug is strong enough. Unlike many other generics, this drug doesn’t contain a huge number of side effects. But here is an important point where you buy it because it is very easy to come across a fake.

On to the foundation, the concept is not new as I mentioned above but I was more interested in the formula. I have combination skin with T-zone Oily and cheeks dry. For me, a good foundation should be able to provide coverage, should not settle into fine lines, should not look cake-y and shouldn’t cling to dry patches either.

Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation review

Packaging: This foundation comes in a small dropper style frosted glass bottle and the dropper allows control on amount of product dispensation.

Consistency: The foundation is very thin and liquid-y but its pure pigment so a little goes a long way. You need to shake the bottle well before each use.

Shades: This foundation has pretty good shade range for drugstore. Its available in 24 shades from very light to very dark and covers cooler, neutral and warmer undertones. Finding a closest match is easy and this is pretty amazing for a drugstore foundation. I’m in the shade 12 Classic tan in summers.

Coverage: The pipette-style bottle allows for adjustable coverage. Two drops = sheer, light coverage, three drops = medium coverage, and four drops = a full coverage finish.

If you have any stubborn spots, you might need to cover up using concealer and also use a corrector underneath if required.

Finish & Longevity: The formula is light, silky and thin which makes it look breathable and light on the skin. The finish is velvety matte and longevity is pretty good for a drugstore foundation. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin. I am not a matte finish person so I like to use dewy primer underneath and spritz an illuminating spray over it. You can control how you want your skin to look like to be honest. However, you might need to exfoliate your skin before using this as its a very thin foundation and you won’t want it to look weird on the skin.

Price: This foundation is available for £14 and can be purchased via Nyx Cosmetics, Boots, Cult Beauty.

Overall Thoughts: I tested this on both good skin days as well as bad skin days and found that it can cling to any dry spots. I suggest exfoliating your skin before using this foundation. Otherwise its a good drugstore foundation with adjustable coverage and wide colour range. It gives velvety matte finish without looking cake-y but you can make it look satin or dewy with the enhancing products like an illuminating primer and illuminating sprays.

Until next time..
