May Favourites

How quickly does each month pass by? It feels like I did my April Faves post just a couple of weeks ago. June is approaching and its my wedding Anniversary and hubby’s birthday month. Also, our giveaway is closing on 5th June 2016 which is my support pillar – my sister’s birthday. If you haven’t entered the giveaway yet, you can check details here. The winner will be announced on 10th June 2016.

If you follow me on Instagram(if not, click here) , you would already be knowing products I have been loving this whole month due to Makeup and skincare of the day posts. Okay, so let’s get straight in to the faves of this month 🙂

  • Bourjois 123 perfect cc Cream | £9.99 | Buy here

This is the first cc cream i ever used. I was so addicted to Garnier bb cream earlier which has been my favourite for quite a few years now. I was recommended this cc cream by few of my Instagram friends and I am glad I picked this up. The shade Beige Clair is closest match for me. It feels very light and gives me an even base. My skin can breathe and looks healthy. I like to apply this with Real Techniques Miracle complexion sponge. On some days when I want to glow more, I like to mix S&G Hocus Focus Illuminator which I will talk about next.

  • Soap & Glory Hocus Focus Illuminator | £11 | Buy here

This is a flaw softening illuminator which gives you a soft focus effect. It gives a dewy finish and light reflecting effect to your skin. This gives me a brightened lifted up look on the dull skin days.

When I bought this illuminator, i didn’t like it much and that’s entirely because i was using too much and it was making me look a bit too glowy which I hate. I even applied this under my foundation which didn’t work well for me either. So, i tried mixing a little bit with my cc cream or foundation, applied it with RT sponge and It worked aces.

That’s the thing with liquid illuminators that they work differently for every one really! This retails at a price little over than Mac strobe cream (travel size) for same quantity but i bought this at an offer price of £5.50 in Boots. This could be a drugstore version of Mac strobe cream.

  • Too Faced Soul Mates Carrie & Big bronzer | £25 | Buy here

This is such a pretty warm bronzer which looks flattering on all skin tones specially medium skintones. If some bronzers can look muddy on your skin, try this. I promise you will not like to go back to any other bronzer. This is a light to medium bronzer with slight shimmer combined with the perfect pop of coral blush (though the shimmer is so finely milled that it is not noticed ). The blush is too small to be used with a brush. I just swirl the brush in blush and bronzer together and that way I get a very flattering bronzed effect. I saw this blush bronzer combo on Amazon at cheapest price here.

  • Makeup Revolution Peachy Keen Triple baked blusher | £4.99 | Buy here

I usually use matte blushers but when Makeup Revolution duped Too Faced sweetheart blushes, I knew I had to try them. This is a stunning peachy bronze shade blusher with a hint of gold. This is a one product you can use when you are in a hurry saving you few steps as it can be used as Blusher, bronzer and highlight (all-in-one). This definitely is a travel friendly option so you need not carry three separate products. You can read my complete review here.

  • Clinique Cheek pop – 01 Ginger Pop | £17 | Buy here

This is a silky nude-y peach blush which gives a natural flush to your cheeks as if someone has pinched you. The formula is not at all shimmery so my matte blush lover friends, you will love this.

When we talk about high end blushes, Clinique cheek pop blushes are super affordable plus the flower design makes it look super pretty. These so not come with any mirror but the transparent packaging makes them super easy to be found in your vanity or makeup bag. This blush was featured in my ‘You make me Blush!!!’ post here. I am going to try heather pop and melon pop next.

  • Mac Mehr lipstick | £15.50 | Buy here

Mehr is a dirty blue toned pink lipstick and has a matte formula. It was developed by Bollywood’s famous MUA Mickey Contractor in his wife’s name ‘Mehr’ which means Grace. This lipstick was a part of Mickey’s Spring 2011 collection. This shade became very popular among Indian and Middle Eastern skin tones first but because this shade was so versatile, it became popular among all skin tones all over the world. Soon Mac Cosmetics made this as a part of their permanent line.

The lipstick is very opaque and is a comfortable matte. This is the shade I can wear all round the year just like Velvet Teddy. Mac Mehr does not require any lip liner for my pigmented lips.

On to some skincare faves 🙂

  •  La Roche Posay Effaclar purifying cleansing gel | £11 | Buy here

If you suffer from clogged pores, oily and sensitive skin or even Acne, this product might be for you. This cleanser gently purifyies the skin, eliminating impurities and excess sebum. The formula contains soothing and anti-irritating La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water. This is developed for imperfections prone skin and I believe there would be very less people who have perfect skin. So, this cleansing gel should suit most people. I have combination skin type but mostly dry and dehydrated. I am madly in love with this cleanser. Even if I use Makeup removing oils as a first step in my cleaning routine, this takes off all and that is what I want. I want a product that can draw all impurities and excess oil from my skin without making me dry either.

This was totally an impulsive purchase when Boots had an offer so I thought of trying this famous brand and I am addicted 🙂

  • Nip & Fab Dragon’s Blood fix plumping serum | £19.95 | Buy here

This serum is super hydrating and has plumping properties. It has Hyaluronic acid & Dragon’s blood which locks moisture in skin. Hydrates for plumper looking skin, comforts and restores through skin hydration, enhances moisturisation.  It’s a lightweight serum that delivers an instant shot of moisture to dehydrated skin.

Hyaluronic acid and delicate velvet flower blend together for an intensive hydrating effect that leaves skin feeling comforted.

It sinks beautifully in my skin without making it oily , sticky or greasy. The difference in my skin is visible after every use. My skin looks hydrated and slightly plumped up. I enjoy using it every single time 🙂
