Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet Review

Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet review on Ms Tantrum Blog www.thatseptembermuse.com

IMG_0461In an ocean of liquid lipsticks, getting the formula right and standing out is a bit tricky. Burberry launched new statement making matte cream colour lipsticks earlier this year called Liquid Lip Velvet*. I had heard amazing things about Burberry lipsticks but had not tried myself. So, I had high hopes from these.

Packaging: These lipsticks come in frosted acrylic tubes with signature Burberry branding on cap and tubes. The packaging is chic as expected from a Niche or Premium Luxury brand.

Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet Review

Key Features: These liquid lip velvet lipsticks combine rich pigment with a smooth glide to create a bold velvet finish, lasting up to 8 hours. These lipsticks provide a light-as-air feeling and a cushion-soft sensation upon application.

Shades: There are 14 shades in total from nudes to pinks and reds to plums. All shades seem very pigmented and cover the lips with just one swipe. I have three shades out of their colour palette:

Fawn No. 05 Brownish Nude that looks amazing on all skin tones. Its also a gorgeous shade for everyday wear. I have not stopped wearing this shade since I received this. This one works with any makeup look and looks effortless.

Oxblood No. 53 This is a deep red shade perfect for a statement bold lip look. This is also a universally flattering shade.

Bright Plum No. 49 Bright plum is a rich plum shade that will look stunning on most skin tones. I see myself wearing this more during colder months.

Formula & Finish: The lipsticks have comforting whipped texture and are developed with new, innovative formula that covers lips flawlessly. These lipsticks are very pigmented and give a beautiful velvet matte finish. The formula is unscented and feels as light as air on the lips. Its non-drying formula keeps lips supple and moisturised, ensuring colour does not crack.

Longevity: The lipsticks have good lasting power of about 8 hours without eating or drinking. After about 7-8 hours, these lipsticks starts fading evenly and doesn’t become patchy.

Price: These liquid lip velvet lipsticks retail for £26 for 6 ml/0.2 fl oz

Availability: These are available at Burberry, FeelUnique, Net-a-Porter, Fabled & Sephora.

Overall Thoughts: The formula of these lipsticks is what dreams are made of! Its not comparable to any liquid lipsticks I have tried so far. Its definitely worth every penny. The whipped creamy formula with matte finish is what liquid lipsticks should be like. These are very pigmented, non-streaky and are very comfortable on lips. Shade Fawn is my absolute favourite from these and will definitely purchase couple of other shades like Rosewood and Primrose. If you’re going to invest in just one premium lipstick this year, make sure it this one!

Have you tried these Liquid Lip Velvets before? If not, did any of these three shades caught your attention? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time
