Whether in the form of fries, jacket potatoes, hash browns or potato curries, who doesn’t love potatoes! These potatoes are extremely beneficial for your skin too đ Potatoes are rich in Vitamin C which is great for achieving good skin. Potato juice helps treat skin aging, blemishes, inflammation and also clears up complexion.
Tan Removal
I know most of us get a fake tan or go to beaches to get sun tanned as soon as summer starts but the problems with naturally tanned girls is that they sometimes get overtanned and patchy during summers.
Rubbing potatoes on skin helps to remove tan and clear up skin. Cut thin slices of potatoes and rub on clean skin for few minutes. Keep it on overnight and wash it off with tap water in the morning.
Alternatively, Extract juice of one potato using a grinder or manual grater, mix a tablespoon of lemon juice with it and apply on face and other affected areas. Let it dry for 30 minutes. Wash off with tap water.
Regular use of any of the above two methods will help remove tan and clears up complexion gradually .
Dark Circles & Remove puffiness
Grate a raw patato and keep it on cotton pads (making sure you do not extract juice from the grated potatoes). Keep the cotton pads on closed eyes for 15Â minutes, remove it and wash off your face with tap water. Repeat this daily and You will see that dark circles and puffiness around eyes will be reduced in few weeks.
Hyperpigmentation
Grate a potato and squeeze out its juice. Mix equal amount of lemon juice to it and saturate a cotton pad with the solution. Sweep the pigmented area with the help of saturated cotton pad. Leave it on for about 30 minutes and wash it off with tap water. Repeat this process twice daily and you will see noticeable difference to your skin.
The above methods are very effective and work as good as famous masks and creams.
Let me know if you plan to try these or would like me to share more such home and inexpensive remedies.
Loads of love,

31 May 2016 at 10:29 PMgreat post! Do you think the potato has to be fresh each time or can it be grated/cut and left in the fridge?xx
Ms Tantrum
31 May 2016 at 10:38 PMThanks Preena. Fresh potato is recommended or it may turn dark if cut or left grated for some time. You can start with small potato to avoid any wastage. I tend to use hand grater to save time. Hope that helps đ x
