There are certain weeks when my hair just… stops cooperating. No amount of styling seems to make it look healthy, and it tangles if I simply look at it wrong. It feels heavy at the roots and dry at the ends. If your hair is feeling brittle, here’s my ultimate damaged hair repair guide. You’re not alone if you’ve ever gone through that lifeless, straw-like “Why does my hair hate me?” phase. The good news? To revitalise your hair, you don’t need an expensive salon makeover or a dramatic chop. This is my 7-day Hair Reset Routine, which combines three essential key steps to make your hair feel stronger, smoother, cleaner, and easier to manage:
- Detox
- Deep conditioning
- Repairing damage + leave-in protection
And yes — it’s easy enough to actually stick to.

What Is a Hair Reset Routine?
A hair reset is a short-term routine that removes product buildup, replenishes moisture, and strengthens weak or damaged hair. Consider it a new start for your hair and scalp. It’s especially helpful if your hair is dull, frizzy, tangled, breaking easily, or greasy at the roots but dry at the ends.
The Hair Reset Kit: Products I Used
To keep the routine simple and effective, these are the products I used throughout the week:
- Tangle Teezer Detangling Hairbrush (my go-to for detangling without breakage)
- Revlon Uniq One All In One Coconut Hair Treatment (softness, shine + easy styling)
- It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Keratin (strengthening and smoothing for damaged hair)
- Kallos Omega Rich Regenerating Hair Mask (deep repair and moisture boost)
- Wella Nutricurls Conditioner (hydration without weighing hair down)

The 7-Day Hair Reset Routine
Day 1: Detox + Reset Wash (The Fresh Start)
To clear the buildup and reset the scalp, start with a detox shampoo routine. After applying Wella Nutricurls Conditioner, use the Tangle Teezer to gently untangle your hair while the conditioner is still in place. To restore smoothness and minimise frizz, use Revlon Uniq One Coconut Hair Treatment after towel drying.
Day 2: No-Wash Day (Detangle + Protect)
If the ends feel dry, lightly brush them with the Tangle Teezer and apply a tiny bit of Revlon Uniq One Coconut. To reduce friction, wear your hair in a low bun or loose braid.
Day 3: Deep Conditioning Mask Day (Repair Session)
After shampooing as usual, use Kallos Omega Rich Regenerating Hair Mask for ten to twenty minutes. While the mask is sitting, gently untangle your hair, give it a thorough rinse, and then apply It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Keratin to wet hair for extra smoothness and strength.

Day 4: Maintenance Day (Softness + Shine)
Keep it simple. Avoid heat styling, detangle gently, and use a small amount of Revlon Uniq One Coconut if needed.
Day 5: Conditioning Wash Day (Hydration Focus)
Apply Wella Nutricurls Conditioner – one of the best conditioners for curly and frizzy hair – after a mild shampoo. Select your leave-in based on your hair’s needs after towel drying: You can use Revlon Uniq One for softness or It’s a 10 Keratin for breakage support.
Day 6: Breakage Prevention Day (The Quiet Hero Day)
Use the Tangle Teezer to gently brush your hair. Dab the ends with a small bit of It’s a 10 Keratin, and wear hair in a protective style.
Day 7: Gloss Finish Day (The “Hair Feels New Again” Day)
Refresh, or wash and condition once more. For a polished, healthy look, detangle and smooth Revlon Uniq One Coconut through the lengths, and then finish with a loose braid.
Your hair should feel lighter, smoother, glossier, and much simpler to untangle after seven days—all without requiring a full salon makeover.
Until next time, Ashh xo
