New RAKU Eau de Parfum by Les Bains Guerbois

New RAKU Eau de Parfum by Les Bains Guerbois

Les Bains Guerbois – The Five Star Boutique Hotel from Paris added a new fragrance – Raku to its beautiful collection of fragrances. For this new opus, perfumer Jérôme Epinette transcribes into perfume the most intimate scents of Raku, a Japanese earthenware with a milky and crackled aspect.

Everything about Les Bains Guerbois

In 1978, Les Bains Douches, the establishment, gained worldwide fame as one of the most renowned nightclubs. Then, in 2015, it underwent a transformation into a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel, while also restoring its club and spa. Jean-Pierre Marois, the inheritor of this remarkable place, introduced the first signature Cologne and a perfumed candle under the name Les Bains Guerbois in 2016. The subsequent year witnessed the launch of a body care collection. Since 2017, Les Bains Guerbois has continued to expand its offerings with the introduction of an Eau de Parfum collection. Perfumers Michel Almairac, Dominique Ropion, Fanny Bal, Bertrand Duchaufour, Jérôme Epinette, and Dorothée Piot have crafted each fragrance, taking inspiration from a specific year and the captivating history that spans over 135 years.

‘Inspired by Japanese pottery faience, crackled, milky, creamy, sensual, thick, radical.’ – Les Bains Guerbois

Les Bains Guerbois named their Eau de Parfum “Raku” after the form of traditional Japanese pottery. This fragrance has a creamy, sensual, and crackling aroma. It starts with fresh lemon and a subtle touch of black pepper, leading to a luxurious heart of fig and clary sage. The scent concludes with comforting woody notes of cedar and white musk in its base.

Cracked, milky, decadent, sensuous, thick, radical Japanese porcelain. The visitors enjoy the raku of the bar, consoles, and tables that decorate the rooms of Les Bains Paris.

Nose : Jérôme Epinette

Olfactory Family: Woody Musk

Top Notes:  Lemon, Black Pepper
Heart Notes:  Fig, Clary Sage
Base Notes: Texas  Cedar, Ambroxan, White Musk

Raku Eau de Parfum tantalizes the senses with its smooth, luxurious, and enticing scent. It begins by unveiling a zesty touch of fresh lemons and a hint of black pepper. The heart of the fragrance reveals a rich and opulent blend of fig and clary sage. The composition is then further enhanced by a soothing and comforting base, consisting of cedar, white musk, and ambroxan, which adds an alluring touch.

When to wear Raku: This intimate scent is ideal for individuals seeking a pleasant and appealing fragrance without attracting unnecessary attention. Raku perfectly fits the profiles of an It Girl or Minimal Girl fragrance. Additionally, it works wonderfully as a clean-smelling scent after a refreshing shower.

Final thoughts: I find Raku to be a perfectly balanced scent that embodies both masculine and feminine qualities. It exudes elegance, modernity, and sophistication, with a touch of Scandinavian minimalism. This versatile fragrance can be enjoyed in any season, particularly during springtime, and is suitable for various occasions. Whether you’re looking for an after-shower scent, an office fragrance, or something for running errands, Raku fits the bill. It can be worn daily or reserved for special occasions if you prefer more intimate fragrances.

Additionally, this fragrance offers a cozy and earthy feel, making it particularly delightful on rainy days. It evokes the calming aroma of rain on clay, earth, or even concrete on a hot summer day, despite not being a rain-centric scent. The contrasting soft milky undertone and crackling peppery note in this fragrance captivate the senses. It fulfills my desire for a comforting, musky fig scent, making it a must-have in my collection. Raku has the power to relieve stress and is truly mesmerizing.

Until next time, Ashh xo
