Double Cleansing | Pestle & Mortar

Pestle & Mortar Erase & renew - Ms Tantrum Blog

If you know me for a while, you’d know I love Double Cleansing every evening (if I’m wearing makeup or sunscreen) to make sure there are no traces of makeup or dirt on my face. Cleansing is a foundation to good skincare. Without clean skin, you will not get full benefits of anything you apply on top of it. Even if you’re not into serums and treatments at the moment, you MUST cleanse your skin thoroughly and moisturize without fail.

I have been using couple of cleansers from Irish Skincare Brand – Pestle & Mortar (Available easily in the UK) for months now and been loving so much! Pestle & Mortar by Sonia Deasy is a family made and run business with a word-of-mouth following – based purely on the results: hydrated and healthy looking skin. All of their products pass the famously strict European skincare standards to make sure the products are pure, safe and highly effective.

Ingredients for Erase: Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil , Caprylic /Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Esters, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-60 Almond Glycerides, Sorbitan Stearate, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil, Opuntia Ficus Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Linalool, Geraniol, Citronellol.

Texture & Consistency: This cleanser comes in a solid balm consistency and may feel grainy when you scoop out some but the tiny soft granules melt into the skin as it gets in contact with your body heat. The cleanser emulsifies when in contact with water.

How to Erase: Scoop a small amount into your hands and rub together before massaging gently onto dry skin, finishing with the eye area. Remove using the muslin side of your warm, damp face cloth.

Results: Makeup, dirt, spf or anything you applied on your skin melts with the balm and is removed easily. Skin looks clean and soft after every use.

The Renew lightweight gel cleanser is great to refresh and illuminate the skin and it sits perfectly as a second step in the Double Cleanse routine. This lightweight cleansing gel is formulated with Superoxide Dismutase and papaya and mango enzymes that leave skin bright, hydrated and glowing.

  1. Superoxide Dismutase protects against Superoxide Toxicity – The most common free radical in the body while preventing wrinkles, fine lines and age spots.
  2. Papaya and mango fruit enzymes improve skin’s texture and tone while tightening pores for a glowing complexion.
  3. Meadowfoam seed oil removes blockages in the pores, allowing skin to breathe.
