Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum – Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris

The fragrance in today’s blog post needs no introduction! It is the most sought-after and bestselling fragrance not just in the Fragrance Community but in general too. Yes, Baccarat Rouge 540 is the one fragrance that is liked and appreciated by even those who are not into fragrances.

Baccarat Rouge 540 is an Oriental Floral Unisex Fragrance and was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is the master perfumer – Francis Kurkdjian.

Packaging: This fragrance comes in a cube-like bottle encased in a substantial box. The box is further packaged in a sleeve style white card box with gold detail. The bottle has a weighted golden cap with Monogram on the top. Baccarat Rouge 540 bottle has a ruby red sticker with gold detailing and when you look through the juice, you will see a red chandelier. All MFK fragrances have similar style bottles and I absolutely love every attention to detail here.

This is a very sweet, floral and woody fragrance on me. This is slightly powdery as well but more on a woody side. The fragrance does smell like molecule (lab-made molecule fragrance like you smell in Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules) but it is a lot different than just a molecule fragrance. It is combined with Jasmine, Saffron, Amber and Cedar wood to bring that twist. I have to agree with the luminous aspect of the fragrance as described by the brand. The fragrance smells very light but powerful.

Performance: Though it smells very light and airy, the fragrance is a beast in terms of performance. Sillage and Projection are insane. It creates a bubble around you that projects so well and leaves a beautiful trail. The fragrance lasts on my skin for about 8 hours or so. You may not smell it on yourself after a few hours but others can smell it on you. On clothes, longevity is even better – It lasts, lasts, and lasts. I like to spritz fragrances on my scarves as well and this fragrance lasts on it until I wash it.

Final thoughts: Baccarat Rouge 540 is a very decadent and sexy fragrance. There is something unique about this fragrance which makes it so popular in the fragrance community. It is very airy, transparent, and fresh and smells alluring on both men and women. It creates a bubble around you and projects incredibly well. This fragrance is a compliment-magnet. This is one of my longest-lasting fragrances with a longevity of over 8 hours on my skin and over 15 hours on my clothes. This fragrance is a masterpiece and can easily become your signature scent.
