Commodity Ice(d) — The Coolest Trio of the Season

Commodity has launched a new fragrance collection: Ice(d), Ice(d)- and Ice(d)+ that feels like a breath of frosty air in the middle of winter. I’ve been wearing all three to see how they wear, evolve, and fit into a contemporary scent wardrobe. This trio, which is inspired by crisp herbs, chilled tropical fruit, and cold-air freshness, adds a whole new temperature to the fragrance world.

Commodity Ice(d) — Frozen Mango Meets Minty Frost

Vibe: Fresh, bright, and unexpectedly cool

Scent Space: Expressive

Notes:

  • Frozen Mango
  • Spearmint
  • Eucalyptus
  • Ginger
  • Black Pepper

Ice(d) is the star of the collection — the perfect midpoint. It opens with a cold, juicy, and frosty mango accord that is almost like slicing into frozen fruit right out of the freezer. While ginger and black pepper provide a subtle warmth that keeps everything balanced and wearable, spearmint and eucalyptus lend a herbal coolness that elevates the aroma.
My take:
Instead of being overly sweet, it is refreshing in a way that feels clean and contemporary. If you love fruity fragrances but want something crisp and elevated (not syrupy), Ice(d) is the perfect choice. It’s the most versatile of the trio and works in any season — winter freshness, summer cool-down, everything in between.

Commodity Ice(d)- — Soft, Aquatic, Sheer

Vibe: Minimal, skin-like, breezy

Scent Space: Personal

Notes:

  • Soft Aquatic Notes
  • Skin Musk
  • Seaweed

The sheerest variation is ice(d)-, which is a whisper of chill as opposed to a thick layer of frost. It is soft, wearable, and without any sharpness, like a gentle breeze blowing off the lake. A clean, skin-hugging freshness that glides softly into the body is created by the harmony between seaweed and musk.
My take:
I choose this fragrance when I want something subtle yet fresh because it’s the simplest to wear every day. Perfect for no-makeup days, cosy winter layers, or when you want to smell like yourself, but cooler and fresher. If you love minimalistic skin scents, Ice(d)- will be your favourite.

Commodity Ice(d) — Ice(d)- & Ice(d)+

Commodity Ice(d)+ — Intense, Icy, Confident

Vibe: Bold, punchy, statement-making

Scent Space: Bold

Notes:

  • Frozen Mango
  • Minty Herbs
  • Cardamom
  • Amber

Ice(d)+ takes the DNA of the original and amplifies everything up: sharper mint, colder herbs, brighter mango, and a more intense contrast of warmth from cardamom and amber. It’s icy but powerful, crisp but substantial — the showstopper of the trio.
My take:
Ice(d)+ is ideal for events, nights out, or anytime you want something that stands out. I adore how the cardamom offers a spicy depth behind the crisp mint, and it has the greatest personality and projection. The collection’s “confidence” perfume, without a doubt.

Which One Am I Reaching for the Most?
Surprisingly… Commodity Ice(d) — the original.
It’s the perfect balance: cold, fruity, fresh, and lightly spiced. It feels like a winter-summer hybrid and adapts beautifully to whatever mood I’m in.

But Ice(d)+ is my choice for evenings or when I want a fragrance with presence. It’s bold, modern, and has that “I walked into the room and smelt amazing” vibe. Plus, I have a thing for cardamom scents and this one is a beauty!

Until next time, Ashh xo
